Like you, we hate waiting, being late, snags and inefficiencies. So much so that we’ve spent the last 50+ years striving to give a seamless travel experience to our guests. This motto of making travel in India a comfortable and unforgettable experience has taken our founder, M.P.Balakrishnan’s fleet from one ambassador car to a 250+ strong fleet ranging from Maruti to Mercedes. A range that is one of a kind in the country.

Founder
Late M.P. Balakrishnan (1941-2020)
Left to his own devices at the age of 10, Mr. Balakrishnan worked all kinds of jobs from delivering newspapers to being a busboy in Mumbai, Chennai and other cities. During his stint as a mechanic, he learnt how to drive and, several years later, managed to buy his first car, the iconic HM Ambassador.

Driving all across the country, sometimes months on end, he picked up 9 languages fluently, along with a reputation for being extremely punctual with a strong work ethic.

Backed up by his work ethic and self-belief, he opened Bala Tourist Service in 1971, slowly expanding his fleet and growing to a first-call service, servicing millions of bookings over the years.
​
Until his demise in 2020, he worked 12 hours a day, no days off. He has left a sprawling legacy for the next generations that have worked with him for 40 years now to take the organization from stride to stride.
